On Vibration's Essence Forum, a reader named Sandra posted the following observations,
which she allowed us to share here:
I'm the kind of person who tends to agonize over which essences to
choose, what my "symptoms" are -- endlessly, ad nauseum. Anyway,
I had this dream two days ago. Sometimes when I have a
dream, I wake up "knowing" it is significant or contains an answer.
This one felt like that. In the dream, there were all kinds of colorful drinks on a table,
and I was standing there looking at them, and the host told me,
"They're all the same -- it's the glasses that are colored."
Over the next 48 hours, I developed the hypothesis that eventually whatever essence
you take gets you somewhere, but each one takes you there differently.
Regardless of the "correct" interpretation of my dream, it got me
thinking about this business of essence choices quite a bit. Maybe it is true that all
imbalances are related somehow -- maybe I could tackle shyness by
starting with Buttercup or Mallow or Pink Monkeyflower -- and each essence
would help me address the problem differently -- meaning there are no
"wrong" choices of essences.
Maybe I came to this conclusion because it saves me the agony of
choosing, but I'd like to hear the perspectives of those who've been
doing this a while.
Vibration Editor, Deborah Bier, replied:
You know, I think you have a very interesting way of putting this. I
often say that the road to glory is a wide one that accommodates
many different travelers taking the journey in many different ways.
In other words: maybe there ARE just "perfect" essences, but the
imperfect ones can be extremely helpful, too! This takes a lot of
stress off having to get "the ONE" essence that will totally do the
job. True, there are less helpful ones. But if the energy of the essence
stirs the person's vital force in ANY way, there is liable to be a
movement toward greater balance. And that is at the very least helpful.
Leda's contribution to the discussion was:
Sandra, what you are writing has a lot of sense and wisdom. I live in
Latin America, and we all speak in the morning of what we dreamed,
even in our jobs, although the level of interpretation in some cases
only is concerned about Lottery symbolism!!! If you feel that your dream has
the answer, it does.
I believe that all the essences connect us in
one way or another to our higher self.
I do sometimes choose essences for a client
based on dreams, but it depends on their capacity for
remembering dreams, and I have to teach them dream symbolism, which
takes me a lot of time. Most of my clients don't use the dream
pathway, so I get them to draw, and then we speak about the drawings, as a
way to connect to their unconscious mind. In doing so, we do see some
issues, although I feel dream material is more pure, less manipulated.
I do use dreams a lot as a barometer of the progress in flower therapy. I have shared them in the last year with Dirk Albrodt, who sometimes writes here on the forum and for
Vibration, because he works with Archetypal essences. I have found that dreams can connect us to archetypal energy.
For example, someone dreamt of drinking buckets of pink milk, which suggested
to me a lack of motherly love -- a weak Mother Archetype -- and so we worked with FES' Mariposa Lily essence. After a few months,
when an equilibrium had been reached with Mariposa Lily, the client had
a confirmatory dream of being hugged by a mother with beautiful, butterfly-like wings.
(Mariposa happens to be the Spanish word for butterfly!)
For me, dreams are a lot stronger after taking the Higher Self Orchid
essence, one of the Amazonian Essences, probably because the essence makes a direct phone call
to my Higher Self. Also, I believe that all emotions are within an ecosystem called the emotional body, which has the capacity for self-regulation. May this help.
Mukumbe's comment was:
You made me remember a dream I had when I was new to
essences! I dreamt that I was in this meadow of gorgeous flowers --
orange in color -- and some kind of Divine being appeared and said
"You need Nasturtium". You know what's spooky? I had no idea anyone
made a Nasturtium essence. All I knew were the 38 Bach remedies. I
didn't even know exactly what kind of flower nasturtium was, though
I knew we had some in our garden when I was young.
Anyway, I looked it up on the net and found out the FES Nasturtium is for people
whose lives have become dry and intellectual and who lack earthy
vigor. I really didn't think that applied to me -- in fact I felt I'd
lost my intellectual side. I bought the essence but don't ask me why
-- I STILL haven't taken it! It's been four years since that dream!!
Now I feel maybe I should have taken it... It is so tough to know
what a dream is telling one. It's really hard. There's this wonderful
book called "Inner Life" by Robert Johnson that is the best book
I've personally read on how to go about working with your dreams.
