Good Prices on FE’s, Supplies?

20753825.thbOne of our readers suggested we ask where folks find good prices on readily-available flower essences.  And then she offered the following advice:

Are you aware that you can purchase flower essences at VitaCost:  www.vitacost.com. This is my regular vitamin place of choice–great  products, great “house brand,” and best bargain I’ve been able to find  overall.  I checked it out, and on the typical 1/2-ounce bottle of Healing Herbs or FES essences,  I save almost a dollar over my practitioner discount. The only catch is that it can take up to 2 weeks, because they don’t  keep them in stock.

One thing we noticed which we were delighted about when we checked the VitaCost site is that they also offered the 1-oz size on each of the Healing Herbs single Bach flower essences. Many wholesalers don’t even offer those! They don’t carry empty dropper bottles, though.

Readers: are there other places you can share that offer good prices on flower essences? Empty dropper bottles (singly, or by the dozen)?  Please add your finds under comments.

A few months ago I had big problems when ordering from Vitacost (taking several weeks to ship my orders, sending my packages to the wrong address, and then finally not acknowledging my orders at all). I haven’t ordered since to find out if they’ve improved – buyer beware!

I buy flower essences from Lotus Light,
a wholesaler in Wisconsin. 899-548-3824. I believe the discount they give to massage therapist is 20%. If you sell anything retail, you may be able to persuade them to give you the store discount of 50%. I work with Mia Macarino (really her name!) who is very pleasant and knowledgable.
I get vials from Taj Perfumes in Baltimore, taj-perfumes.com or (410) 234-0915. For 4 dram amber glass dropper bottles I generally pay around 50 cents each (I don’t remember if that includes shipping). You order by the gross (144) for most items. If you order several boxes of bottles you can save on shipping. They also sell on ebay.com, you can look at their products. But the shipping thru ebay is really high.
One drawback of their products: the boxes smell of incense. I air them out for several weeks before bringing the boxes into my back office.
For larger quantities go to Acme Vial in Pasa Robles, CA. Their prices are usually a bit higher than Taj.
Other people use Sunburst Bottle or Specialty Bottle for small quantities but their prices are a lot higher.

For FES Supplies, IHerb.com has good prices and also 1 oz bottles of the flowers outside of the Bach regime although not complete. Also — Internatural.com has good prices, also not complete inventory. Lotus Light — they are the best price but they do not have a complete inventory on 1 oz bottles of FES and I buy sppplies from Specialty Bottle as well, will check out the other sites thanks!

Pat Davis:

I always order from FES because of the practitioner discount and range of products. They have many more essences than are listed in the Repertory. Also, they sell the 1 oz and 1/4 oz bottles, spray bottles, etc. And I use their labels when making remedies with their essences. What I would like to know is where to order nice, affordable personalized labels for 1 oz and 1/4 oz bottles used for my homemade essences? Any suggestions are appreciated!

Kimberly Sabrosky:

I order regularly from VitaCost and the service has always been great, and shipments arrive quickly. The exception is as was noted above – when the item is backordered from the manufacturer. Still, I’ve never had to wait as long as the time stated for delivery.

Personalized labels: I had my local printer make custom labels for me a few years back. They were expensive, but worth it I thought. If you choose to do this, be sure the labels you order have the right type of adhesive to remain on a 1oz glas bottle. The average label will pop off. Ask your printer for a test label before you buy. Put it on a spare bottle and check after a couple of days.

Does anyone know if there is a place anymore where they carry all the essences from all over the world ?

If not, a place with good prices on Australian Bush essences ?

Thank you.
