What's in the Cards for Vibration -- And the World???

Vibration Magazine's 5th Anniversary
by Donna Cunningham and Deborah Bier, Co-Editors, Vibration Magazine

As we prepare for publication of this, our Fifth Anniversary edition, we at Vibration are as uncertain of the future as all of you out there -- this despite the fact that Donna is an internationally-known astrologer! (Read her astrological commentary on our times in the sidebar.) Deborah's intuitive strengths read the same: too many variables in the wind.

What Donna Cunningham Sees in the Stars
"Uranus, the planet of sudden, surprising events, technology, revolutions, and innovation moved into the hazy sign Pisces in March for a seven-year stay. From mid-June until October, the planet Mars -- in mythology, the God of War -- will be in early Pisces as well, standing next to Uranus in an exceptionally long conjunction. For this reason, I do not believe there will be a quick resolution to the Mid-East situation, and it is likely that there will be other distressing world events as well. We will all need to remain centers of calmness and peace for those around us". (For more about Uranus in Pisces, see the articles by Jonathan Keyes and Steve Jolley.)

With the winds of war swirling around us at this writing, the present -- and our global future -- change dramatically from day to day. Usually Vibration's next issue is pretty well finished as soon as the current one comes out, but this time, we are only a couple of weeks from publication, and we still have no final line-up of articles set in stone. Some world event -- or some exciting new essence author -- could burst on the scene for inclusion right up to our publication date.

Still, several articles planned some time ago for this issue turn out to be helpful for the needs and anxieties of wartime, like Karlie Cole's Where Have all the Flowers Gone and Daniel Mapel's Eagle and Mountain Lion Essences. When you are exhausted and awash with the emotions this global conflict stirs up, Ivory Phoenix's suggestions about Violet Curls -- the Emotional Hangover Remedy may just fill the bill. The article on Longer-Term Use of Rescue Remedy has actually been in our "stash" for quite some time. That old essence standby has comforted users through several major wars since it was formulated in the 1930s, it could be a distinct comfort to many of you now.

Our original idea was to devote this entire issue to essences for men, a topic we had long neglected. We do have a suite of fine offerings by a variety of authors about that subject -- not too shabby! And, though the courage and contribution of the women in the armed forces -- and that of their wives back home -- cannot be underestimated, nonetheless we do need to offer our prayers and support for the men overseas as well at this time. These are the times that try men's -- and women's -- souls, and essences do have much to offer in the way of strength and comfort.

We had hoped to also include an article about essences for war veterans, since mostly men go into combat and because it is such a timely topic. But we sadly cannot offer such a piece. We have polled our writers and searched the Internet for information about this topic without result. So, now that we have a new crop of war veterans, it seems we will have to invent ways that essences can help these men and women recover from their experiences, re-enter peacetime, and move on with their lives.

Since we haven't a clue where the world is going from here, much less Vibration Magazine, we celebrate five years of publication this month with a mixture of feelings. We are proud of the growth we have seen over the years and especially this year in our content and design, in our readership, and in our array of contributors. (See the offerings of some of our finest and most frequent contributors here.) Most recently, we have enjoyed beginning to teach a series of online classes.(See here for information about joining our next session.)

We look forward to continued growth and service, yet with such an uncertain future, we do not at this moment even know what the theme of our August issue will be! Donna says it is likely to be a wild and surprising summer, so we stand ready to roll with the punches and develop the articles and information we all are likely to need. Don't be surprised if we wind up reissuing still another time our Virtual Booklet, Crisis and Trauma Essences! Beyond that, we stand ready to be surprised and to continue surprising you.
