![]() Over the past several months, many of us have been working to embody peace in the face of the swirling energies of war around us. All the way across the political spectrum, from anti-war protests and peace vigils to those convinced the only way to peace and security is through bombs, we have are each tried to create a shift. We were anchoring light, writing to our politicians, writing poetry, writing checks, writing e-mails, marching in the street, being called to active duty and praying. Some of us are still tired, scared, depressed or overwhelmed. Some of us are excited and hopeful. Many of us are somewhere in between, and that can change from day to day. We are having conversations we may have never had before with our friends and with our perceived enemies. While we certainly do not all agree on any one viewpoint, we can be grateful for the conversations and the possibilities for connection that exist within such conversations. In thinking about the efforts that so many are making in conscious conversations toward a shift, the song "Where Have All The Flowers Gone?" came to mind. I reflected on prior times of war, and how the flowers have been symbols of our grief, of our courage, of our unity. I understood the flowers' role of support for us in the past, and the increased levels of support and inspiration they offer us today through their essences as inspiration for our healing individually and globally.
Essence Support for the Chakras
The third chakra -- the solar plexus, representing confidence -- can benefit from the bright yellow resonance of Corn, Scotch Broom and Yellow Star Tulip flower essences. Corn radiates grounded spirituality when in the congestion and chaos of crowded urban environments, and supports embodiment when working in large groups. Scotch Broom opens the soul to positive and optimistic feelings about the world and about future events, imbuing sun-like forces of caring, encouragement and purpose. Yellow Star Tulip refines the soul's life by developing one's capacity for receptive and insightful social presence. It does not work inwardly on the Self as much as it helps the soul direct all that has been developed within the inner life to go outward as a gift for helping and healing others, or working with the forces of the world. ![]() Quaking Grass supports the opening of the fourth (heart) chakra by helping to create a group awareness that is greater than any single person, yet remains conscious of each individual identity. Quaking Grass supports harmonious social consciousness and finding higher identity in group work. The blue Borage fills our fifth (throat) chakra with the vibrations of buoyant courage and optimism to support us in speaking our truth and fills the soul with fresh forces of enthusiasm and upliftment. Cerato supports us in trusting our inner knowing, facilitating confidence to honor and speak our own truth. Cosmos supports the seventh, fifth and third chakras, harmonizing thinking and speaking patterns with the higher soul functions so that the true spirit can shine forth from the personality.
Lotus supports the first chakra's survival needs as well as integrating all the chakras, helping us bring our words, will and actions into alignment to fulfill our soul's purposes. Lotus works with the activity of meditation to support open and expansive spirituality, insight and synthesis. Lotus is an all-purpose essence for enhancing and harmonizing the higher consciousness, and especially for integrating spirituality in a balanced way with the other energy centers. Though the specific conflict may change, the energies of war and its aftermath are likely to remain with us for some time, and well as the need for inner peace for individuals. As we work, each in our own way and in groups, to embody peace, the flowers have their gifts to offer us. They, too, have a stake in the outcome of our work. Let's remember that the flowers haven't gone anywhere -- they are here for us now. Let's welcome them within and amongst us as allies on our journey.
