PURPLE DENDROBIUM DREAM ORCHID
By Kathleen Douglas
dendrobium orchic flowerWhen I went out to eat at Austin's famous "Shoreline Grill" one evening, I noticed my plate had been garnished with a most beautiful, magenta and white orchid. It was so lovely and symmetrical -- as symmetrical as orchids get! I recalled a fond memory of a cruise in Tahiti, where we got fresh magenta and white orchids in our rooms every day.

I felt drawn to the flower, so I took it off my plate and put it in my hair for the rest of the evening. When I got home, it was still fresh, much to my surprise, so I put it in a little crystal glass with some water. It happily floated on top of the water -- it seemed so alive -- as if it didn't even realize that it had been cut off from its mother plant days ago. I thought to myself, "I wonder if it will still be crisp in the morning..."

Lo and behold, the next morning, my beautiful orchid was just as perky as the day before. So what do you think I did next? I made a flower remedy with it, of course! I gave the little orchid some fresh spring water, and put it out in the sun for a few hours. Early that evening, I brought the essence inside and mixed it with some alcohol and bottled it up. I had no idea what orchid essence was intended to be used for, but I thought it would be fun to try some. Just before bed, I took a few drops on my tongue, and went to sleep...

Wow, it was like Alice in Wonderland! (Only not as weird!) Really, just beautiful, colorful and vivid dreams! I felt lucid, very conscious of what was happening, and the dreams were easy to make sense of. I also noticed that the dreams were helping me understand what was going on in my waking life. Everything was symbolic, and the messages the dreams had about my life were quite clear, unlike the usual -- when I might vacillate between possible interpretations, not being exactly sure what my dreams meant.

When I awoke the next morning, I felt oddly refreshed. Strange, that I was not "tired" from all that vivid dreaming! I also noticed that I was feeling much calmer and more relaxed about my life in general, as if some sort of "dream therapy" had taken place.

I decided to do some research about orchids online, and I noticed that the information under "Orchid Essence" did mention, "dream clarification". The only way I can describe what dream clarification is, is by telling you my process with my dreaming in the above story. I suppose "clarification" is the key word here. Not only do dreams become clear, colorful, and easy to remember and understand -- but this remedy also seems to help one's overall consciousness, and sense of well-being. When we begin to understand that everything is in its right place, we can cultivate a sense of trust and calmness about what is happening in our lives, being better equipped to decide what to do next.

Purple Dendrobium Orchid remedy would be great for people who are going through any confusing and complex or "muddy" situations in their lives. They may be able to help resolve their situations by paying more attention to the "messages" and symbolism in their dreams. Also, this remedy would help anyone working with a dream journal, because it helps to hold the dreams in the memory for much longer than just the first five minute

s after waking! The "Dream" Orchid remedy will not induce this "lucid" dreaming if you are exhausted. If you have taken the remedy, and you are super tired when you go to bed, you will probably just sleep deeply, without remembering or being disturbed in any way by your dreams. You will probably feel very well-rested in the morning. If you do tend towards insomnia, you may want to take Passion Flower essence along with Purple Dendrobium, to ensure a general well rested feeling.

Looking to the astrological side of things, this remedy could benefit people having strange or difficult Neptune transits. Those with a strong natal Neptune could also benefit from this "dreamwork" remedy, tremendously. Plus, it is just so entertaining! I was having a great time with my dreams -- wish I would've been awake so I could've had a soda and some popcorn while watching! (Giggle.) There also seems to be no grogginess or feelings of unrest the next day, which is a big plus. Getting a nice full night of sleep is important! Amazing, that one could feel so well rested even after such an active night of dreaming... apparently, according to the experts, we dream in bushels every night, but we just don't often remember. But now we CAN remember, with Purple Dendrobium "Dream" Orchid essence!

One thing to keep in mind with Purple Dendrobium, a warning: due to the Neptunian nature of this remedy (it IS straight out of the fairy realm), it may possibly transport into another dimension! So watch it carefully -- put it in your daily field of vision, because this remedy likes to disappear and move between the realms of the waking and the dream world. It helps to make the invisible, visible. And vice versa. Truly, what is real, anyway? Dreams, illusions, or "reality?" Little Purple Dendrobium walks between the worlds. Although the realm of the etheric world co-exists within our "waking" world, things TRULY are not always what they seem. They are becoming, as in the famous words of Lewis Carroll, "Curiouser and curiouser!"
