dull, dull winter!

If you are heading into the holiday season with joyful anticipation, you need read no further. There are plenty of essences to help you survive those stressful shopping days and visits to family (Trauma Soulution, Star of Bethlehem, Bloodroot), and others for maintaining order and patience (Cleome, Impatiens, White Chestnut, Icosahedron). If you're looking forward to the hustle and bustle, you can help yourself with a few timely doses and go merrily on your way.

If, however, you are facing the holidays feeling overwhelmed by family gatherings, dreading crowds of people at the mall, if you're waiting for the inevitable "holiday cold," or feeling lonely, disconnected and isolated from the joys of the season, read on. Essences make a huge difference during stressful times. And they are so easy to use: take two drops under the tongue, three times a day for two weeks or until you gain relief. You can blend two or three (up to six) together in a dropper bottle for added oomph and take four drops three times a day. And you can put six to eight drops of each essence you choose into a water bottle and sip all day long. You'll stay hydrated and take in balancing elixirs with every sip.

brrrrr!

Two formulas I highly recommend are Trauma Soulution and Yarrow Blend. Trauma Soulution is universally helpful for accident, injury and crisis, and it's a great tonic for daily stress. Yarrow Blend strengthens natural boundaries, helping you maintain emotional harmony and feel confident and secure. Below are more specific suggestions for the holidays. (Except where noted, all are available through featherhawk essences.)

Family Issues
even snowmen get cold~

Bloodroot helps you discover the pure intent that lies behind family patterns, heals old wounds and transforms the past. Mint Flower helps to rebuild your emotional foundation and heal from buried abuse, so that you move forward in life by forgiving yourself and others. Oriental Spruce is an essence for finding or creating a safe place to be heard. Seashell 1 supports those who were dishonored as children in reclaiming their personal power and entitlement. It aligns the root, sacral and solar plexus chakras. Seashell 2 helps to forgive those who were abusive during your childhood, increasing acceptance of self. It aligns heart, throat, brow, and crown chakras.

Stress and Fatigue

Azurite makes it possible to communicate authentically from the core of your being. You can then translate your love for the Earth into love for your body temple; treating them both well during the holidays. Olive relieves physical and emotional exhaustion, in that you learn to draw from the infinite well of All That Is and rediscover your profound inner resources of stamina. Pink Yarrow is a boon for establishing firm emotional boundaries so you can help others without taking on their "stuff." Go out on a limb and take your next step with courage. Cleome creates the potential for orderliness, so you recognize the order that lives within chaos and create transformation through conscious participation.

Boost Your Immune System
acccchhhhoooo!

Celery supports the immune system; especially valuable as "old/new" illnesses resurface. It releases static electricity from the body's crystalline structures. Tomato is for inner cleansing and the release of infection from the Whole of You. Yellow Yarrow is for strength and perseverance when feeling challenged or influenced by others, or vulnerable and lacking self-confidence. White Yarrow repairs your auric energy field, deflecting negativity, psychic abuse and environmental stress. Like all Yarrow essences, it strengthens your personal boundaries.

Essences for those Holiday Blues

Cucumber Magnolia ushers in a joyous rebirth into new life, being for new beginnings and expanded awareness of life's possibilities. Fossil Fern is for joyous creation and light-filled movement; for dancing in your heart and your body. If you take Raven, be willing to acknowledge your wholeness, including your shadow, I'm feeling a little lonely out here in the cold. and you'll know true freedom. Look for the gift in the darkness. With Tick, you move through layers of emotion (energy in motion) and reclaim your joy. Embrace your anger. Wild Tobacco Seed is good for confidence and assertiveness. Connect with your true inner being and nurture your potential so it germinates and grows. This multi-purpose essence catalyzes a "bubbling up" of joy and light; it reduces mental over-activity, freeing untapped resources of energy. Courage Soulution can transform fear into freedom, curiosity, excitement and adventure. Take it and listen to your heart, turn off the tapes of negative beliefs, and quiet your inner critic.

This holiday season, discover the power of essences to balance your emotions, feed your heart and soul, and allow yourself to breeze right on through to a glorious New Year!
